This banana strawberry smoothie is a classic that most of us grew up loving! It’s a great way to start your day, to enjoy it as a snack, or have it as a post-workout quick smoothie. It’s nutritious, delicious, and packed with plant-based protein.
Smoothie must be nourishing, made with the freshest ingredients, and delicious. And that’s exactly why we all love them. I don’t believe in bland, sour, or super thin smoothies just because they’re healthy. So I make my smoothies to tick all of the boxes, not just health, but also the taste!
This banana strawberry smoothie is my go-to smoothie in the mornings, or a snack that I usually have at mid-day. It’s so simple, packed with goodness and it truly feels like a celebration since it’s also sweet and creamy.
How to Make Banana Strawberry Smoothie?
Like all smoothies, this is simple. And we’re not going to use any special ingredients here.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
A ripe banana that is fresh or frozen, fresh or frozen strawberries, quick oats, hemp seeds, plant-based milk or any milk of your choice, and ice!
The Directions:
- Place all of the ingredients in the blender jug, cover, and blend until it’s well blended. If you’re using frozen banana, then you might not need to use any ice cubes.
- If your smoothie is too thick, and you need to thin it out a little, just add a little bit more milk or a splash of water and blend again.
- Serve in glasses and enjoy!
Recipe Variations
This recipe is very versatile. You can add any other ingredients that you like. Below are a few suggestions:
- The banana is quite sweet so I don’t usually add any additional sweeteners, but feel free to add a date or 1 teaspoon of honey or maple syrup.
- Add pure vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- Add Greek yogurt for extra creaminess and richness.
- If you like protein powders, then feel free to add that to the smoothie.
- Add any seeds that you like for extra nutrient value. I love adding hemp, chia, and flaxseed.
If you end up making too much smoothie, you can store in the fridge to enjoy later but it is recommended that you consume it within 24 hours.
