This easy Twix cheesecake is a decadent dessert that anyone can make! It combines creamy cheesecake with chunks of chopped Twix candy bars for a delicious and indulgent treat. The crust is made with buttery shortbread cookies, and the cheesecake is baked and then topped with chopped Twix bars and caramel and chocolate sauce for the perfect finishing touch!
Everyone loves a big slice of cheesecake, whether it’s a plain NY-style cheesecake topped with pie filling, a Holiday themed one like this Easter Carrot Cheesecake, or an Instant Pot Cheesecake (this cooking method is awesome by the way!).
Cheesecakes can be made into so many different and fun flavors, and they’re so easy to change up too. This Twix cheesecake is a delicious twist that I’ve been meaning to share for a long time. It has the best combination of not just creamy smooth and crunchy but also sweet and salty, and the flavors are unbeatable!
Key Ingredients
- Shortbread Cookies: I used a pack of Chessmen cookies to make a shortbread cookie crust. You can use any other brand or even homemade shortbread cookies if you prefer. A classic graham cracker crust would also be delicious if that’s what you want to make.
- Cream Cheese: You can’t make a cheesecake without cream cheese! You need 4 full fat blocks of cream cheese here.
- Vanilla: Cheesecake is a dessert that I like to use pure vanilla extract for because it will make a difference.
- Eggs: Make sure that you take the eggs out of the fridge for at least 30 minutes before you start making the cheesecake mixture. Room temperature eggs mix into the batter much better.
- Twix Bars, Caramel Sauce, Chocolate Syrup: Top the cheesecake with these 3 for a winning flavor combo!

How To Make Twix Cheesecake
Before you start, preheat the oven to 325°F/160°C, and line the bottom of an 8 or 9-inch springform pan with a parchment circle. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine shortbread cookie crumbs with butter, and press the mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pan as evenly as possible.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth and creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat again until well combined.
- Pour the mixture onto the prepared crust in the pan, and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center of the cheesecake is almost set but still slightly jiggling. Switch off the oven, and open the oven door and allow to cool in there for 1 hour.
- Remove from the oven, and chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours but preferably overnight. Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the cheesecake, top with chopped Twix candy bars, and finish off with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Run a knife around the edge of the pan for easy removal. Slice and serve.
Tips For Making the Perfect Cheesecake
- Use high-quality ingredients: The quality of your ingredients can greatly affect the final taste and texture of your cheesecake. Use high-quality cream cheese, butter, shortbread cookies, chocolate, and of course the original Twix bars to get the best flavor and texture.
- Prepare the crust properly: The crust is an important part of cheesecake, as it provides a foundation for the filling. Make sure to properly crush the shortbread cookies and mix them with melted butter, then properly press that into a springform pan before adding the cheesecake filling.
- Properly mix the filling: When making the filling, make sure to beat the cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy. Add the other ingredients gradually and mix well to ensure a smooth and even consistency. Be sure not to overmix the filling either, as this can cause the cheesecake to crack as it’s being baked.
- If the cheesecake starts to brown too much at the top, just tent it with foil to protect it from browning.
- Properly cooling the cheesecake is crucial for avoiding cracks. It’s important to follow the instructions for allowing the cheesecake to cool while it’s still inside the oven. This slow and gradual cooling process can help you achieve a smooth and crack-free cheesecake.
Recipe FAQs
Make sure that you use the block form and not the spreadable cream cheese that comes in a tub. Full-fat cream cheese is the best choice when making cheesecake, but Neufchâtel cheese can also be used.
While a springform pan is the traditional pan used for making cheesecake, it is possible to make cheesecake in a regular cake pan or pie dish. Just make sure to line the bottom with parchment paper or foil for easy removal.
Cheesecake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or frozen for up to 2 months. To freeze cheesecake, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil before placing it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Enjoy making and eating this tasty cheesecake! If you make it, don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments box below the recipe card. I love hearing from you!
